Meet a few of our Student Members

Jennifer Stephens

"I not only love history, but as a trained historian I understand the important influence history has on our current practice. The BCHNS is a vital group that actively seeks to create a collaborative of intergenerational nurses for the benefit of the profession."

"My growth as a nursing history scholar is fundamentally tied to my involvement with BCHNS. As a student member of the BCHNS, I have benefited greatly from the support and encouragement of other BCHNS members. My MA thesis was based on records that were housed in the BCHNS archive. I have been fortunate to have had many productive conversations about my research with BCHNS members. BCHNS members have been quick to share their knowledge of history with me and their passion for nursing history is contagious! I have also been awarded the BCHNS Scholarship twice, which has assisted me with my research and academic studies. The BCHNS is an extraordinary organization and I have been very fortunate to have had the support of the organization"

"BCHNS is doing an exceptional work in preserving not only British Columbia's rich nursing history; moreover, by supporting students through bursary awards is preserving the history Canadian nurses made and are still making in Canada and in different parts of the World. I encourage students and colleagues to join this supportive society and be part of its important mission."
