The BC History of Nursing Society (BCHNS) Archives collects artifacts, photographs, and published and unpublished materials that have permanent historical values that document aspects of history of nursing in B.C. The Archives actively seeks to collect, appraise, organize, describe, preserve and make available for research and reference current and historical records of individuals and organizations engaged in the field of nursing in B.C.

The Archives is open for use to all citizens. Among the primary users groups are nursing professionals, students, faculty members and researchers and interested community members. The archival holdings include records of the BC History of Nursing Society, records of individual nurses and records of various nursing organizations and former professional practice groups of the Registered Nurses Association of B.C. (now the College of Registered Nurses of B.C.). Other materials include biographical files, photographs, oral histories, nursing publications and artifacts.

Select oral histories are available in cassette format at the Helen Randal Library in the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia. To search for an oral history, go to the Library Catalogue, and type the name of the individual for which you want an oral history. Request the item via the college's library.
